This article tells me that studies have shown that youth gambling is a problem that needs to be tackled early. A 2004 gambling prevalence survey here showed that almost half of all Singaporean gamblers started aged between 18 and 24. Global research also showed that young people are up to four times more probable to become problem gamblers than adults. Therefore, the National Council on Problem gambling lends support to at least two interactive initiatives aimed at young potential gamblers.

Personally I feel that the people are easily influenced during their teenage time. Thus this is the time to protect them and educate them in the dangers of gambling. The teenagers are now materialistic and they aim to own more branded goods and therefore they want to have more money to purchase them. The fastest way to earn a huge amount of money is to gamble. Money makes the world go round. Teenagers think that with money can buy them a lot of friends and thus they want to be affluent. Therefore many teenagers turn to gambling.

With the casinos about to open, and teenagers being exposed to gambling, it is important to educate them on the dangers of gambling as it will ruin their future. Therefore by using interactive initiatives, the teenagers will take more time to know about the dangers of gambling. The style of publicity will surely attract more attention from the teenagers as it is something new to them. As a result, they will absorb more information about gambling and they try to avoid it.

With this brilliant way to raise awareness among the teenagers, Singaporean should not worry too much about opening casinos in Singapore will harm the people here especially teenagers. As long as the people know about the dangers of gambling like the problems that will surface when people gamble, they will try to avoid it.
